Grow-Trees is a profitable web-enabled enterprise that allows users to plant trees with a few clicks and send out personalized tree-dedication certificates to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, festivals or special occasions that was launched in June 2010.  We have systems to physically plant these trees in several projects in the periphery of tiger reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, the common land of villages and holy environments across India. We have planted over 420,000 trees and have over 130 corporate and thousands of individuals supporters.

Tasks and Responsibility

• CEO position to run Grow-Trees and lead a small team
• Goal is to plant millions of trees a year
• Work with our external software team to improve website and add new features
• Work with planting partners to add new planting locations and expand to urban and international locations
• Grow and lead the corporate sales program
• Grow and lead the individual sales program
• Diversify into related e-commerce

• Tree Planting Partner of the United Nations Environment Program’s Billion Tree Program
• Official Partner of United Nations Decade on Biodiversity
• We recently were selected as one of the top 40 startups in the country from over 14,000 applicants in the Economic Times’ Power of Ideas competition held jointly with IIM, Ahmedabad and the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship and was awarded a Rs 5 Lakh grant from the Government’s Department of Science and Technology. Grow-Trees has signed a deal for Rs. 10 million of advertising rights in the Times Group in exchange for 5% of equity.
